There are three options available for hosting of BSI: Multi-tenant Island, Private Island, and Remote installation.
Each of these options have different benefits designed to cater to differing customer needs. Regardless of hosting choice, BSI provides the following:

Unlimited number of data fields
Ability to track millions of specimens
Three instances of BSI provided (Production, Mirror, and UAT)BSI is normally provided as a hosted (SaaS) solution in a multi-tenant managed service environment. This environment allows us to provide you with a cost-effective platform for your specimen management in our FISMA moderate computer center. This deployment includes monthly updates and requires minimal effort by your IT staff.
A private island in our computer center can provide certain advantages over the multi-tenant deployment including the ability to have more control over a version upgrade schedule. This deployment includes full IT services for our island customers and requires minimal effort by our customer’s IT staff.
If your company has operational or contractual obligations that require you to host your data locally, then a local deployment option is available. A remote installation can come in two versions: one where IMS maintains the system through a VPN, and one where total control and responsibility is turned over to your organization. As with a private island installation, you have more control over the upgrade schedule.
